There are many people who wear nothing but boots all year long from summer through winter since there is really not a particular season for boots to be out of style though they seem to be more popular in the Fall and Winter. Boots like many other types of footwear are made by shoemakers in all kinds of different styles and colors. Some people opt for boots with imitation leather but for a little more money you can get the real thing that will be infinitely more durable.
The old standby cowboy boot still remains as hot as ever with way more to choose from than just western styles. They have actually become very sophisticated in recent years offering a style for almost any outfit and are available in almost any length. Yes, ankle boots are really boots and they come in styles worn by both men and women alike. The vast majority of ankle boots will look better if worn with slacks that hide the tops of the boots. Many people choose ankle boots over conventional ones because they dislike the weight or heat that is inherent in taller boots. By following the advice above of wearing pants that cover the tops, people will not even realize that you aren't wearing a full boot.
The mid calf style is another popular look and they look especially good when paired with a mid length skirt allowing a little skin to be exposed. The mid calfs are very comfortable and can be found in a variety of styles including the western look that goes well with a t-shirt and denim skirt. For business dress they can be found in classical black styles that look great.
One caution, if you have large calves these can rub your legs and be very uncomfortable. Exotic dancers made knee boots popular and were once considered to be so sexually overt that no one else dared wear them. In this day and age they are super hot and popular. I must give you a caveat here though, if you have short legs don't wear them! Knee boots look best on long shapely legs, if you have short legs they will only serve to make them appear even shorter. Another look that is in these days is having tight jeans tucked into them to reveal the styling on the uppers. Over the knee boots can only be worn by people who are much taller than average.
This style of boot is definitely not an everyday fashion item and should be saved for special occasions like going clubbing or for a very special date. They also are totally off limits for office wear because they will definitely be seen as too sexy. There you have it, all different types and lengths of boots, so what are you waiting for, get shopping.
